• Our Mars room at Beaconsfield caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, during this time, your baby will go through an incredible transformation. Babies grow and change at an astounding pace, and every month brings new and exciting developments. The Mars room is a large carpeted room with a separate sleep room with lots of windows to create a bright and airy room. The room is well planned to accommodate the individual needs of babies, ensuring that they thoroughly enjoy their time with fun, exciting and age appropriate toys and activities to stimulate their developing personalities.

The staff team in Mars have a deep understanding of child development and know how to playfully interact on the children’s level, supporting them to develop in all the prime areas of learning. Our keyworker system ensures that communication with parent/carers is paramount. Each child has a daily diary completed with information about their day and this is then discussed with parents at the end of the session. During a child’s early years, even before they learn to speak their first words, they build secure attachments with special people and learn language through hearing people talking and communicating in their daily lives. We follow each child’s own routine that you may have established at home in order for them to have a smooth transition between home and Nursery. By providing a wide variety of experiences, which involve all of the senses, this encourages learning and an interest in their environment. We gain photos form each child’s home environment to make a family book, this encourages their self-esteem and self-image and creates links between the home and nursery. Treasure baskets are provided to encourage exploration of a variety of textures, patterns, shapes and size.
